Terms & Conditions
I aim to deliver a high quality and professional service for all my clients, please help me achieve this by fulfilling your part in these Terms & Conditions.
Subject to an initial assessment I will agree to work with you to achieve your goals. It should be remembered that therapy is a collaborative process and, while I guarantee to give you 100% of my skill and commitment when working with you, the responsibility for change is yours. To maximise your progress it is important to:
- follow any instructions I give you before, during and after treatment
- let me know of any issues that may be significant
- inform me of any issues that may arise within one week of your prior session
- note that tasks, where assigned, form a key part of your treatment
- test the work carried out as requested
- follow treatment through to its full course
Please note that sometimes the work we do may bring emotions to the surface; you accept responsibility for this and any consequences.
A 30 minute complimentary consultation is available for clients who are unsure whether investment in a programme of therapy is right for them. During this consultation I will gather information about the challenges you are facing and advise whether I believe I can help you. I will explain how I work and possibly give you a trial experience of the therapies I offer, if time allows. Above all, this consultation will give you an opportunity to see whether you like me and want to work with me.
Investment for therapy and estimated number of sessions will be discussed at your first appointment. Fees are not charged on an hourly basis. It is usual to pay for the full therapy programme upfront as it helps secure your commitment to the treatment. I recognise that payment upfront is sometimes challenging and a more suitable payment plan can be arranged.
Prices and sessions
My standard treatment programme 3 sessions of approximately 90 mins each, however depending upon our progress shorter or longer programmes may be recommended. No refunds will be issued if you decide to terminate once therapy has commenced. I do understand that sometimes life can get in the way and undertake to hold your therapy open for a maximum of 12 months from commencement. I recommend that once your therapy has started you attend sessions regularly to maintain the momentum of your progress.
Smoking Cessation is charged at £215 and is usually conducted in one extended session.
Payment can be made by cash, cheque or bank transfer at or prior to your first consultation.
Cancellation & late arrival
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 48 hours (2 days) notice is required for rescheduling or cancelling an appointment. The full fee will be charged for sessions missed without such notification. If you are more than 5 minutes late, it is unlikely that I will be able to extend the session. Full charges apply.
All information disclosed during consultations is confidential and may not be revealed to anyone without your written permission except where disclosure is required by law. However, as a registered member of the GHR (General Hypnotherapy Register), I am required to attend regular clinical supervision with a more senior therapist within a small supervision group. This is to ensure I am working in an ethical manner, to discuss my work and my professional development. When discussing work within the supervision group, client names are not revealed and all therapists within the group are bound to keep the information discussed confidential.
