What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy works in a practical, gentle way to resolve issues, whether emotional, psychological or behavioural.  Hypnotherapy resolves the sort of issues that have prevented people like you from living happy and fulfilled lives. Working with some clients I will find a resolution in a single session; other clients may take a little longer.  Success is achieved through collaboration with my clients.  Hypnotherapy is a 'do with' technique, it's very much a 'do with' one.

I don’t remember driving home!” Or perhaps you’ve been so engrossed in watching a film that you haven’t noticed the person sat next to you asking you a question. What you’ve done is put yourself into a hypnotic trance. It’s completely natural and something we all do several times a day. When you're relaxed and in a hypnotic state it’s possible for your unconscious mind to receive positive suggestions.  In this state you're able to accept a reframing of your negative beliefs and an unpicking of destructive patterns. And that’s exactly what I do for my clients through hypnotherapy.

How I Work With Clients

When I work with my clients I begin by listening very carefully to what they tell me. Along with taking down a detailed personal history, in the gentlest most unobtrusive way possible, I’ll look at what their body language tells me and get an inkling of whether their unconscious mind agrees with what they are saying. We’ll work together to identify the root cause of their problem, using targeted therapeutic techniques along the way to deliver the quickest, most effective and appropriate treatment.

It's all about you - it simply has to be!

Whatever the issue may be, one thing never changes: you have to genuinely want to make a change for your own sake. If you ask for a consultation about giving up smoking because your partner has been hassling you to quit, that probably won’t work. It’s all about what you want for yourself and your life. It may actually be that the behaviour you are attempting to change serves you in some way.  This isn't unusual and you might not be consciously aware of it; let’s look at this together in our session.
